Lent Midweek Worship Series Ash Wednesday begins our midweek Lent services, each Wednesday evening at 7:15pm, from February 26 to April 1. Join us for midweek services under the theme of “The Son of God Goes Forth to War.” Many people picture Jesus in robes, holding a shepherd’s staff and guiding his sheep. Others see him crowned and bright, sitting on a throne in heaven. Less commonly today, we recognize him as the brave and often-opposed soldier the Word tells us he is. This Lenten season, we will take a thoughtful look at Christ’s role as a warrior by reflecting on Scripture’s telling of the battle against sin and death that Jesus fought and won for us. We will focus on the tremendous courage, humility, and power of our Savior—and his ultimate victory! Join us! Lent Midweek Rotation We are thankful for the opportunity to have guest preachers from our nearby sister congregations. Our Wednesday services also include the pastors and vicar (intern) from Abiding Word in Houston and Beautiful Savior in College Station. Each service will focus on an aspect of our Savior-warrior as he is promised to us, fights our enemies for us, and triumphs over them for us. Our series: • Ash Wednesday, February 26: “Hidden Warrior” John 11:33-37, Pastor Andy Retberg • March 4: “Reconnaissance Report: Know Your Enemy” Ephesians 6:12, Pastor Jeremy Schulz • March 11: “The Warrior Faces Satan’s Ally, the World” John 18:38, Pastor Caleb Schoeneck • March 18: “Skirmishes” Hebrews 4:15, Pastor Ben Schone • March 25: “The Promised Warrior” Isaiah 42:13, Pastor Matt Brown • April 1: “The Warrior Rejected by Many Followers” John 6:66, Vicar Mark Zondag
